Network market hit hard by economy, but primed for rebound

In a new report, , Infonetics Research reports that sales of enterprise routers and WAN optimization appliances were down in the first quarter, because of the economy and a shift to lower-priced routers and low-end branch office devices. But, there are bright 'clouds' on the horizon.

2in10 CEO David Farquhar keynotes entrepreneurial gathering

2in10 CEO and GlobalScot David Farquhar delivered the keynote address at an event on 17 June hosted by Fusion, an organisaton whose goal is to stimulate interest in innovation and entrepreneurship in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

David is an experienced serial entrepreneur with a strong track record of launching and directing innovative companies in a range of different technology sectors.  He is co-founder of 2in10, a venture management firm based in Glasgow, and is currently spearheading the efforts of Pivot Capital Partners, a venture funding group.

David's keynote at The Ideas for Growth conference was followed by four facilitated workshops exploring important everyday topics, including coping strategies for the recession, and moving into new export markets. 

The gathering included a pre-dinner networking session, followed by more discussions over dinner, giving delegates a further opportunity to air and explore real, live issues in their business and get input from other business leaders around the table.

This conference was particularly aimed at people running businesses and social enterprises, or those with ambitions to do so.
