George Hall

George Hall is an accomplished and highly experienced International Business Manager, with strong Sales & Marketing and Relationship Management skills. He has more than 25 years experience of working for, and with, technology companies in a variety of industries including Financial Services, Utilities, Public Sector, and Oil & Gas.

George spent the first 18 years of his career working in and with large Corporate Enterprise organisations. However, for the last few years, he has mostly been involved in advising small technology companies, helping them understand large corporate thinking, helping them develop their product and channel strategies and in general widening their experience of the sales and marketing process.

Following his graduation from Glasgow University with a BSc (Hons) in Geology, and a couple of years working on the Oil Rigs, George joined IBM and completed a rigorous Sales and Marketing training programme. During 12 years with IBM, he worked in a variety of Sales and Marketing roles, in Sales Management, General Management, and in Product Management.

In 1995, George moved to FI GROUP as the General Manager in Scotland where he successfully instilled strong sales and marketing disciplines into a very operationally focussed organisation, completing large deals with the Scottish Executive and Kingston/SCL, and bringing together Bank of Scotland and FI GROUP to create First Banking Systems, a joint venture IT organisation between the two. He then went to India for 3 years where he acquired IIS Infotech for FI GROUP and integrated the company into the FI culture. While in India, George ran the product training business, implementing product management life cycle disciplines into the organisation.

In 2002, George became Group Senior VP for SAIC in East Kilbride, the outsourced IT division of ScottishPower. George transformed the Sales and Marketing operation, and inculcated “Solution Selling” and Product Marketing processes.

For the last 6 years George has used his skills to help develop early stage technology companies. Although concentrating his efforts on improving sales and marketing processes within these companies, George has been involved in all aspects of early stage companies from non-executive duties, through fund raising, to personal mentoring and crisis management.

George was introduced to 2in10 in 2006, and immediately understood the 2in10 approach, having recognised the issues while working with small companies over the previous 5 years.

George is a transformational leader, highly skilled in the motivation and inspiration of teams, and competent in communicating to all management levels. His relevant experience is predominately in Product Management, Product Marketing and in Relationship Management.
