Janet Unsworth is an Associate Director specialising in enterprise software applications and the integration of complex systems, especially in the financial services sector. She brings a unique insight to the buyers view of IT acquisition: essential knowledge for those wishing to sell to the corporate marketplace.
Janet joined Oracle in 1996 where she was responsible for selling and delivering consulting services based on Oracle software. During this time her major clients included leading financial services players such as Barclays and MBNA.
Janet was quickly promoted to head up Oracle's consulting Partner Management team for EMEA where the model she developed was so successful that Larry Ellison had it adopted for the global corporation. The key elements in this programme were designing a world-class strategy, setting clear rules of engagement and hiring the right partner management team.
From here Janet was promoted again to become IT Director for Oracle EMEA where she also developed an EMEA-wide pre-sales demonstration service.
Her experience at Oracle and with the financial services sector led her to join the Royal Bank of Scotland to lead the new 3,000+ applications development function post the acquisition of NatWest Bank in 2000. At first she headed up the Applications Development team, later becoming head of Business Systems Development where her focus was on ensuring that Group Technology would support the key business functions.
In 2004 Janet took on the role of New Business Technology Integrations where she introduced product lifecycle management to the bank and oversaw the acquisition and integration of technology vendors including Bibit (on-line payments) and Tracker (anti-theft vehicle tracking). This also included significant technology diligence work.
Prior to joining Oracle Janet spent 12 years in a number of roles at Touche Ross in the UK and New Zealand.
Janet holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics from Salford University is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) and a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS).
