Riaz Bava

Riaz Bava is a seasoned technology sales manager with extensive links across the Middle East, North Africa and India. Riaz has a track record of success in the mobile computing, enterprise software and eLearning markets, including two roles as Middle East channel and end-user sales manager for rapidly growing Scottish technology companies.

As Regional Sales Manager (Middle East, Africa & India) for Edinburgh-headquartered Interactive University Riaz was responsible for identifying and winning some of the company’s major sales opportunities. Since 2003 he established channel partnerships in Kuwait, UAE and Jordan as well as winning the contract to establish a branch campus for Heriot-Watt University in Dubai. Riaz also won the project to establish the Egyptian-Scottish University in Cairo and helped bring the eLearning Scholar programme to India.

In 2000 he was head hunted to join the Glasgow-based Idesta Group as Regional Manager (Middle East Africa & India), helping the group to grow rapidly and become the largest vendor of mobile enterprise applications in EMEA within 18 months of start-up. During this highly successful period Riaz won substantial contracts with the Al-Safi Group in Saudi Arabia, Pepsi in Dubai and Mars in Egypt. In India Riaz landed the lucrative project to supply mobile computing solutions to Hindustan Lever (Unilever) for their field sales force.

From 1998 to 2000 Riaz worked with Computer Network Systems in Dubai as their Divisional Manager (Mobile Computing) with responsibility for the 6 countries comprising the Gulf Cooperation Council sales territory.

At regional player Alpha Data LLC from 1994 to 1998 based out of Abu Dhabi, Riaz operated as an Account Manager for the corporate PC business. Prior to this he was a Key Account Manager for PC sales at Star One Computers in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Riaz holds a B.Sc. in Electronics from Bangalore State University, India.
