Registration is now open for Creative Clusters 2008 (17-20 November, Glasgow).
Creative Clusters takes place at a time when political and cultural change is in the air at every level - in Scotland and further afield.
2008 has seen the launch of the UK government's 'Creative Britain' report, and the UN's global 'Creative Economy Report'.
In Scotland, September sees the Scottish Broadcasting Commission's 'strategic way forward for Scottish broadcasting', and further debate on Creative Scotland, the new national strategic body for the arts, screen and creative sectors. Creative Clusters will examine all of these initiatives.

Digital Content Opportunities the Focus of 2in10 Venture Partners CEO's Presentation at Creative Industries Summit
Nov. 2008 - The Digital Age is creating a climate in which new types of content are not only necessary but are driving revenues today.
In fact, forecasts reveal that whilst voice revenues will stagnate in developed countries, data traffic will account for all revenue growth. In Western Europe alone, voice revenues are set to stay at around $124Bn but data will grow to $50Bn by 2012, says David Farquhar, CEO of 2in10 Venture Partners, an investment group that funds innovative global companies.
Farquhar will participate this month in Creative Clusters Conference 2008, scheduled to take place in Glasgow November 17-20, 2008. The conference will focus on the growth of the creative industries in Scotland and the UK, and explore new and emerging roles in economic development and in culture.
Joining him in the workshop will be Thierry Baujard, Chairman of Peacefulfish, a consultancy and online community for digital content creation, financing and distribution (www.peacefulfish.com).
Topics to be discussed include: Identifying and articulating policy issues, connecting to development resources, uncovering new funding resources and alternatives, and developing information exchange networks and support systems.
2in10's Farquhar will discuss new business and expansion opportunities for companies in the creative industries on November 19th, as well as meet with executives throughout the event who are interested in learning more about 2in10 Venture Partners and its capabilities.
"There are over 6 billion people on the planet of whom 3 billion own a mobile phone and only 1 billion of us have a PC connection to the Internet," says Farquhar. "It's highly likely that most of us will see and experience the Internet and all its possibilities for the first time via a screen smaller than a playing card."
Production, distribution and financing models are evolving rapidly with major players seeking to redefine themselves as content (rather than technology or service oriented) companies.
Topics included in the presentation and workshop will include:
• What makes compelling content, given the cross-platform nature of digital creative content?
• How do we develop and reward talent to make that content?
• How will worldwide distribution channels change as consumers discover and connect with content/talent that appeals to them?
• Who will finance the creation of mobile content at the creation stage, as well as fund the sales/distribution into the appropriate markets?
Farquhar and Baujard will also discuss the new role of public policy in supporting producers and distributors of digital content, since this change of paradigm will need the support of public policy to enable the transition between the old and new model.
Some 50 speakers from around the world will take part in the innovative Creative Clusters 2008 conference, many of which will present actual case studies that apply to companies in the government, private business and non-profit sectors. Presentations relates to businesses of all sizes and geographic regions.
Creative Clusters Ltd. was set up in 2001 to enable people engaged in the development of the creative industries showcase their work, learn from each other, identify and articulate policy issues, and connect to development resources. (http://www.creativeclusters.com)
